Welcome to Baires sublevel 0063. Our air pollution is only at 73% and we have better atmospheric light systems than those snobs at Baires sublevel 0058.
A few centuries into the future, the planet has become inhospitable with radioactive wastelands and mutated monsters roaming the land... or was it that a science project gone wrong that cause the plant life of the planet to go haywire and grow out of control overtaking most of the planet... or we might not even be on Earth anymore and this megacities are actually spaceships drifting through the universe. No one really knows for sure what lays beyond the thick walls of the city. Except for the mega rich and privileged that live all the way at the top levels. Conspiracy theories that run around the net say they live so high up the skies that they actually live above the clouds and are able to see actual sun light.
Sci-Fi and more especially Cyberpunk are one of my most favorite genres of media and one that I had never had the opportunity to work on a project, so I decided to make one of my own. The idea behind it is of Megacities that are structured on tiers rather than expanding horizontally, with each sublevel being a city of its own. For the first shot, I wanted to make a establishing shot for one of the sublevels that are found more at the bottom were the sun light is non existent and it is gloomy and wet all the time.
The addition of the Blimp came at a much later time as I was trying to add some story telling elements for it. The 3 final designs were my favorite ones and ended up going for the smaller, simple one as it fit the scene better. I do have plans to use the other designs for other images that I'm working on. As it came at such a late stage of production, I didn't want to spend a lot of time adding as much details as I wanted but might end up doing so later on. For the next set of images, I intend to focus closer to street level and explore how the citizens of this Megacity go on about their lives.
